[OT from cottage renovations]

the past month or so hasn't been outstanding for good weeekend light, and serial distractions have kept me from taking advantage of what there has been.  today was better in both regards.

these honeysuckle bushes have dropped their leaves, leaving berries more prominently displayed against bare branch whether glowing in the streaming light or outlined against the sky.

the Circle

... has several varieties of azalea, the leaves of each reacting differently to the change of season.  the light passing through these was intense to the point of being hard on the eyes.

...  while these ones have chosen December in which to turn to improbable fruit flavour colours: apricot and peach.  go figure. 

calendar update

[OT from cottage renovations]

reservations are comfortably past 50% of the press run.  as of this afternoon 170 copies have been picked up, mailed or delivered; the latter includes one that's being hand carried to the Russian Federation as a souvenir. 

recipients seem to be pleased with them.  with any luck, by displaying a copy they can incite calendar envy among those who see it.  they, too, could have their very own copy.  I would so rather they end up hanging on people's walls to be appreciated than spending the year sitting in boxes here in the front room.
