[OT from cottage renovations]
Meg's first vet trip was this morning. so far so good: she doesn't have any of the external parasites one would expect from a foundling from the woods (no ear mites, no fleas) nor did she present with any obvious health issues.
lab test results are still pending but I'm optimistic.
and in case you were wondering, her estimated age is 8-10 weeks and she weighed in at 2 lbs 3½oz.

just as I was leaving the office a call came in from Dr. Debbie to advise that Meg's lab work had all come in negative. no FeLV, no FIV, and no internal parasites.
this is an excellent start for the rest of her life.
