I haven't necessarily gotten any more tolerant of pokeweed then before, but even so it is exhibiting a seasonal progression that's interesting to note.

yesterday the painter crew spent the whole day on S wall surface prep.  it didn't materially change the appearance of anything, at least not in a way that can show up well in an image.  lots of scraping and window glazing compound replacement, and lots more to do before any paint gets applied to anything. 

the wooden frames for the new screens and storm windows are being staged on the porch, where the morning light made for interesting patterns.

if you look carefully at the bottom image, at the back of the stack you can see the decorative trim element, temporarily removed from the façade over the upper front window for the painters' convenience.

as summer eases on into fall some of the late blooms seem to be coming forth with a greater than usual exuberance.
