[OT from cottage renovations]
today is the last day of the Cézanne in Provence retrospective exhibit at the National Gallery. I had put off going until yesterday and was very pleased to have had the chance to see it.
the gallery is holding special late viewing hours this evening for the benefit of anybody who would like to attend.

the opium poppy out back never lasts for long: a few day and that's all, folks. on its way out it drops its brilliant and textured petals like one of those exotic dancers, maintaining a sultry languidness that lasts right up to the end of the show.
