as the upstairs decarpetation proceeds, from time to time more artifacts have been revealed.  as noted before most have been linear in shape and have turned up in the cracks between the floorboards. 

this evening's find was an exception to that pattern:  a fire-damaged flattened paper cylinder that was lying underneath the foam rubber padding.
