the Blizzard of '05 (part 1)

the great Blizzard of '05 struck the Grove this afternoon.  the forecast called for 3 inches of snow; what we got was about 1/8 inch.

at the peak of the storm I went out into the Circle where the light dusting of snow was bringing out the details and texture of the tin roof on Peter's cottage.

it didn't do that over here because my own tin roof is concealed beneath a couple of layers of asphalt shingles.  when the time comes to remove them the old roof will have been perforated with thousands of shingle nail holes.  but when exposed it will clearly guide the the path to restoration.
