small scale repedimentation

it seems hard to believe, but this phase of the project is starting to wind down.  at this point there's only about a day's worth of carpentry left: fabrication of the box beam for the W wall interior, installation of some quarter round along the base of the W and N walls and finishing up some trim on the pediment. 

yesterday's efforts to insulate and close up the W wall provided a chance to revisit the decorative trim on the cat door and cat cam window.  they were set in place before the pediment was designed and ended up not quite matching it.  now they do.

some aspects have been deferred but it's going to be O.K. to declare victory and pause for a while.

about all that's left for this phase is to get the painters in and to arrange the party.  it has been many years since I've entertained -- longer than the lifespan of some of my friends -- so that aspect seems like more of a challenge than it might to others.
