nearly reporched

they also managed to come up with the first punch list item -- the column base shroud pieces weren't up to their usual standard of workmanship in fabrication and application. the builder will be addressing it this week. since they have neither invoiced nor been paid, this is a good time to have that discussion.
today I scraped two generously heaping dustpans, whatever volume that comes to, of paint flakes and chips from the porch ceiling.
this was partly by way of preparation for the painting (which will follow the refenestration) but also to get a close look in order to see whether anything structural needs to be done up there.
it doesn't.
it was also a chance to remove mud dauber wasp nests -- one of which had been painted over some time in the distant past.
