[OT from cottage renovations]

yesterday's light dusting persisted through the night and during the day a bit more snow showed up, though mixed at times with sleet and freezing rain.  by the end of the day the accumulation was about an inch.

Grove Avenue

a hush seemed to have fallen upon the avenue, and with extraneous noise subdued the scene took on a solemn grace beyond that which can be conveyed by this image.

Chustnut Road at Center Street

snow on the ground and grey skies above always seem to conspire to drain the colour out of the seasonal landscape, giving a boost to the splash of pastel blue visible from this cottage porch roof.

The lane looks very stately and peaceful in the snow, but I can't help being amused by that incongruous hydrant.
