better brushes
last night's sign painting didn't get very far because I realized that the brushes I was trying to use were completely inappropriate for the job. so today I stopped by Visual Systems in Rockville to get some better ones.

they're a lot easier to work with and will make for a better result.
I'm also fortunate to have neighbours who are kind enough to help with process photography -- obviously I didn't have a free hand with which to take the above image.
in other news, the builder called this afternoon with an update on the milling and to advise that he's sending a crew in the morning to pull off the plywood from the S wall and install the insulation and random width TIG plank siding. they're also going to open up the N wall from the inside to apply insulation.
that seems like a lot to get done in one day. we'll have to see how much they can actually complete.
